The state of the art facility which opened to patients in April this year provides treatment for patients with eye and joint issues. The centre has 25 beds in addition to 5 operating theatres for orthopaedic and ophthalmology services. It is one of a network of elective care facilities across Scotland which will provide specialist services to a wide community from across the country.

The First Minister toured the new facility and met staff and patients at the purpose-built facility.
