About Inverness Campus

Campus environment and wellbeing

A place designed for people and the environment

Inverness Campus is so much more than a place to work. We wanted it to be somewhere people want to spend time. High‑quality buildings are set in a landscape that supports healthy working, respects the environment, and is made to be used and enjoyed by all every day.

Over a third of the developed area is dedicated to green space, creating a campus that feels open, welcoming and connected to nature.

This gives people space to walk, meet, and recharge. It’s a healthier, more balanced environment for staff, students, visitors and patients.

Why not come and see for yourself?

Supporting active travel and lifestyles

The Campus has been designed to encourage walking, cycling and movement throughout the day. A network of footpaths and cycle routes links buildings, green spaces, nearby residential areas and key neighbours including Raigmore Hospital.

These routes are used daily for commuting, study, clinical access and recreation, helping to reduce reliance on cars while supporting healthier, more sustainable travel choices.

Clear routes, bridges and pathways make it easy to move around. They also connect the Campus with the wider Inverness active travel network.

Designed environmental benefits

The landscape includes a mix of planting, mature trees and habitat features that support biodiversity. There’s a green infrastructure that contributes to drainage and long-term resilience. As the Campus continues to grow, environmental quality and sustainability will remain central to its development.

Our beautiful central lochans make up a sustainable drainage system (SUDS), while also supporting plant and animal habitats.

Open and accessible to the community

Inverness Campus is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The local community regularly use its paths and green spaces. As do those who work here. It’s an inclusive, shared place.

This brings benefits for businesses – helping employers to attract and retain talent, support wellbeing and productivity, and create a positive experience for clients and partners. Combined with modern facilities and strong connectivity, it creates a distinctive setting for businesses looking to grow.
