Calum Ross joined the HIE Board in September 2018.
Calum Ross has been living and working in the Highlands for the last ten years. He bought the 4-star Loch Melfort Hotel, near Oban, with his wife Rachel in 2008 and combines the challenges of small business ownership with thriving business consultancy, mentoring and advising SMEs across the Highlands and Islands, in a variety of industry sectors. He has recently been appointed non-executive Chairman of Midton Acrylics in Lochgilphead.
Calum maintains several high profile board positions, serving as chair of UK Hospitality Scotland; director of Hospitality UK; Director of Scottish Tourism alliance and a member of the national Tourism Leadership Group. Calum was a founding director of of Argyll and the Isles Tourism Co-operative and is vice-chair of the Oban and Lorn Tourism Association. Prior to returning to Scotland, Calum was Chief Operating Officer, Unilever Foodsolutions, Latin America, based in Sao Paulo.
