The Social Enterprise Census is a multi-partner project led by CEIS, and researched by Social Value Lab. The project has been carried out with support from the Scottish Government as part of a 10-year commitment to track the development of the social enterprise sector nationally.
We support a report for the Highlands and Islands region. Both are available here. The region's census findings highlight social enterprises contributed £197m to the local economy – an increase of £32m since 2019.
In 2021, there were 1,277 social enterprises operating in the Highlands and Islands employing 7,228 full-time employees. See the full reports and key facts in related documents.
