  • Position:  Graduate Marketing and Communications Officer

  • Location: Inverness

  • Starting salary: £32,438 per annum. Excellent pension and benefits package

  • Contract/hours: Two-year fixed term contract, full-time, 35 hours per week

The role

As a Graduate Marketing and Communications Officer, you will join our multi-disciplinary marketing and communications team, contributing to a wide range of activities including content creation, public relations, media relations, digital communications, social media, website development, events and campaigns. You will work with colleagues, clients, partners and stakeholders across the Highlands and Islands, helping to communicate the impact of HIE's work and the opportunities available to businesses and communities throughout the region. This role offers the opportunity to develop practical experience across multiple communications disciplines while building a professional portfolio and making a meaningful contribution from day one.

The person

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and professional graduate who wants to build a career in marketing and communications. You will be educated to degree level in marketing, communications, journalism, media, public relations or a related discipline and will have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. We're looking for someone who can communicate complex information clearly and accurately for different audiences, with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively, while also being able to use your own initiative and take ownership of your work. Experience gained through employment, volunteering, academic projects or other activities will have helped you develop professionalism, reliability and accountability. A willingness to learn, contribute fresh ideas and continuously develop your skills will be key to success in this role.
