Published: 18/02/2026

Organisations across Lewis and Harris are invited to attend the Spring Engagement Event at the Caladh Inn, Stornoway, on Thursday 5 March.

Drop in anytime between 2-5pm to connect, learn and help shape the future of cruise tourism in the Outer Hebrides.

Hosted by Stornoway Port, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), VisitScotland, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES) and Visit Outer Hebrides, the session will provide updates on the progress of the past year while offering an insight to the coming cruise season.

Attendees will hear from the cruise forum partners, gain practical guidance on working with the cruise market and dedicated opportunities to share experiences. The event also includes dedicated networking time, allowing businesses to connect with others working across the cruise tourism community.

An important focus of the afternoon will be hearing from local operators and organisations. Organisers are keen to gather local perspectives on how cruise engagement is working in practice and how future activity can be improved to benefit businesses and communities across the islands.

The event is free to attend, but spaces are limited and booking is essential.
Registration is available here

Donald Murray, senior development manager at HIE, said:

“We are looking forward to welcoming tourism operators and organisations from across the islands. Their knowledge and ideas play a vital role in building a strong, sustainable cruise offering for the Outer Hebrides.

“The new deep water terminal in Stornoway is already creating positive momentum for Lewis and Harris, and the opportunities it brings this season will be significant for local businesses and communities.”

Representatives from HIE, CnES, Stornoway Port, Outer Hebrides Tourism, VisitScotland will be on hand throughout the event to discuss the support available to help island businesses make the most of the anticipated increase in cruise visitors.
