Queen Portrait

Queen Elizabeth II

Our chair Alistair Dodds CBE has issued the following statement.

Picture of Queen Elizabeth II

On behalf of everyone at Highlands and Islands Enterprise, I want to offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this difficult time. The Queen had lifelong connections to the Highlands and Islands and demonstrated a sincere affection for the region, its people and culture throughout her long reign. That feeling was – and is – returned many times over, as we mark the passing not only of a great monarch, but an era that has defined our lifetimes.

Às leth a h-uile duine aig Iomairt na Gàidhealtachd ’s nan Eilean, tha mi airson ar co-fhaireachdainn as doimhne a thoirt don Teaghlach Rìoghail aig an àm dhoirbh seo. Bha ceanglaichean fad-beatha aig a’ Bhànrigh ris a’ Ghàidhealtachd is na h-Eileanan agus bha gaol mòr aice air an t-àite, na daoine agus an cultar fad a rìoghaich fhada. Bha - agus tha - am faireachdainn sin air a thilleadh iomadh uair, fhad ’s a tha sinn a’ comharrachadh bàs chan e a-mhàin monarc iongantach ach àm gu math sònraichte nar beatha.
