  • Position: Data Analyst.
  • Location: Inverness/other HIE office locations will be considered/hybrid working. Whilst the preferred base for the role is Inverness, and there will be a requirement to attend the office, we have a flexible approach to working and can consider hybrid working for applicants based at any HIE office locations.
  • Starting salary: £35,292 per annum. Potential salary progression to £39,899 per annum. Excellent pension and benefits package.
  • Contract/hours: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week.

The role

We are seeking a dedicated Data Analyst to join our Corporate Data and Analytics Team. This role involves specifying data capture, validation, and maintaining corporate data quality. You will be responsible for statistical analysis, data modelling, performance measurement, and reporting. Your role will include generating business intelligence and insights, developing Power BI reports, and managing reporting systems. A key aspect of this role is to bring fresh thinking to HIE’s work, contributing to the continuous development of the organisation and supporting the measurement of performance against strategic objectives.

The person

You should possess strong statistical and analytical skills, with the ability to use data visualisation methods effectively. Proficiency in Power BI report development, MS Office applications, and an understanding of business systems, including CRM systems and data warehousing techniques, are essential. Experience in Python, R, or SQL is desirable. You should be able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and have a flexible approach to working. A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to travel within and beyond the HIE area are also important.
