What is it?
The purpose of Regional EDGE is to broaden the reach of Scottish EDGE support and ensure that businesses across Scotland, particularly those in regions that may not have previously engaged with the programme, feel encouraged to participate.
Winners of Regional EDGE have access to a host of benefits that include:
- 1 x top award of £50,000 (70/30 loan/grant split)
- 2 x £15,000 grants
- 2 x £10,000 grants
Who's eligible
Limited companies, social enterprises and charities in Scotland who have been trading for up to five years, and are based in the Highlands and Islands region, are eligible to apply.
Key dates
- 9 December 2024 - Application window opens (9.00am)
- 20 January 2025 - Application window closes at 14.00 (2.00pm)
- 27 – 31 January 2025 - 1st Stage Assessments undertaken
- 1st Stage Assessment Results sent out by 4 February 2025
- 20 February - 6 March - Live Pitching Finals and Awards

HIE's innovation service can provide you with expert advice and funding to help you get your ideas off the ground.
Young Business Capital Grant
Closed to applications until Spring 2026. The Young Business Capital Grant provides funding of between £10,000 and £75,000 to organisations trading less than five years.
HIE Green Grant Fund
The Green Grant Fund is currently paused and is under review. The HIE Green Grant Fund provides up to £250,000 to businesses and social enterprises to support their journey to net zero.
