What is it?
Launch Academy Scotland is a technology accelerator programme for the offshore wind industry providing technology development, business growth and professional services to those developing innovations for the industry.
The programme is the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult’s (ORE Catapult’s) flagship technology accelerator programme, with this inaugural Scottish cohort sponsored by Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, South of Scotland Enterprise, and global renewable energy developers BlueFloat Energy | Nadara Partnership, Ocean Winds, and Inch Cape offshore wind farm.
It’s designed to provide wraparound support to early-stage companies further develop, then fully commercialise, products and services targeting the UK's offshore wind market, with particular focus on cost reduction by identifying innovative solutions to real industry problems.
What’s the format of support?
Those successfully enrolled will join a cohort of ten organisations who will benefit from a bespoke seven-month programme of activity. The unique package of support from Launch Academy Scotland’s expert delivery partners includes legal, marketing, accountancy, IP, equality, diversity & inclusion, and investor readiness. It'll also include direct tailored technology development and business case analysis to each of the participating organisations.
How do I apply?
Launch Academy Scotland will welcome applications from innovative companies who wish to join its first regional programme of activity specific to Scotland on the 19 of July 2024.
Expressions of Interest are open now, register on the Launch Academy Scotland website.
The deadline for applications is 16 August 2024.
Applicants will have the opportunity to respond to various specific technology challenges developed in collaboration with our industry sponsors or apply to an Open Call category.
