What is it?

Cruthachadh Chothroman – Shaping Opportunities – is a new Gaelic business accelerator programme supporting Gaelic-speaking entrepreneurs and organisations to grow, thrive, and lead the way in Gaelic enterprise.

With a practical, hands-on approach and expert-led guidance, the programme is designed to integrate Gaelic as a cultural and economic asset in modern business.

About the programme

Developed by HIE, supported by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, and delivered by Elevator, this six-module programme will help you turn your ideas into action. Sessions will be interactive, delivered primarily in Gaelic, and led by industry experts, Gaelic entrepreneurs, and experienced mentors.

Module topics include:

  • Business skills and financial growth
  • Gaelic marketing, branding & digital presence
  • Innovation and business development
  • Networking, collaboration and pitching

The opening session will be held in Skye in June (travel support available), with all remaining sessions delivered online.

What to expect

  • In-person opening session on 13 June in Portree, Isle of Skye
  • Five online sessions over the summer
  • 1:1 agitation and mentoring sessions to help you explore ideas
  • Check-ins with a dedicated facilitator
  • Access to Gaelic CIRCLE
  • A final pitch to Gaelic business leaders and stakeholders

Who’s Eligible?

We welcome:

  • Gaelic-speaking entrepreneurs or organisations (or those aiming to grow their use of Gaelic in their business)
  • Individuals looking to start, scale, or optimise a Gaelic-related business
  • Social enterprises and community ventures

You don’t have to be fluent – but you should be confident enough to participate in Gaelic settings.

How to Apply

There are only 10 places available on this pilot. To apply, complete the online application form by Monday 26 May 2025.
