Artificial Intelligence (AI) Readiness Programme

What is it? 

The AI Readiness Programme is designed to support ambitious businesses, social enterprises and business leaders on the journey towards integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into operations. It is a comprehensive programme of support offering training, guidance and resources. It aims to help you harness the potential of AI to solve business challenges and develop strategies for successful implementation.

The programme will start on Wednesday 3 September 2025 with a one day in person / hybrid event at HIE's An Lòchran office based on Inverness Campus. 5 x 2 hour online workshops will then take place between October 2025 and March 2026. 

Each organisation participating will receive 2 hours of 1-1 consultancy.

The programme will be delivered by Bellrock Technology

Who's eligible?

To participate in the AI Readiness Programme, businesses must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an ambitious Highlands and Islands based business or social enterprise within industry sectors eligible for HIE support  
  • Demonstrate a commitment to innovation and growth and to decision maker attendance at the scheduled events
  • You do not need in depth knowledge of AI but have a clear interest in exploring AI technologies in the context of your business challenges and ambitions.

Programme schedule

  • In person / hybrid event, Inverness (all day) - Wednesday 3 September 2025
  • Online workshop - Wednesday 1 October, 10.00-12.00
  • Online workshop - Tuesday 4 November, 10.00-12.00
  • Online workshop - Wednesday 14 January, 10.00-12.00 
  • Online workshop - Tuesday 3 February, 10.00-12.00 
  • Online workshop - Wednesday 4 March, 10.00-12.00 

1-2-1 consultations will be scheduled by Bellrock Technology from November 2025 – March 2026.

Application process / timeline

  • Tuesday 10 June – AI Readiness Programme open to enquiries
  • Tuesday 24 June – deadline for enquiries
  • Wednesday 25 June – full application sent to potential participants
  • Monday 7 July – deadline for full application
  • Tuesday 15 July – successful participants notified.

This programme is a collaboration between Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Enterprise. It will be delivered by Bellrock Technology.
