Digital health, MedTech and diagnostics

The health technology sector includes any product or service that is used to improve human-health outcomes.

Digital health is a market that includes software and apps for everything from health and wellness to remote monitoring or the delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Medical devices can be physical technologies or products used in a medical setting including such basic items as a bandage, syringe, or wheelchair.

Diagnostics companies produce diagnostic devices, software or services. This includes in vitro diagnostics (IVDs) that analyze biological samples like blood, urine, or tissue outside the body, for disease detection, monitoring, and screening.

Clinical research and regulatory approval are critical to all the categories above and the cluster here in the Highlands and Islands includes both commercial and public sector providers operating these services.

Have a look below at some of the digital health, MedTech and diagnostics organisations base here in the Highlands and Islands.
