HIE designed and built Golspie Business Park in the 1990s, creating nine development plots on site. In recent years it has evolved into a small hub of businesses that support the Golspie and wider Sutherland economy.
This latest development will offer flexible and affordable business premises that lend themselves to different business requirements.
There will be two larger terraces and one small terrace. The larger terraces will be available as either two individual units of around 90 square metres or a single larger unit of 180 square metres.
The smaller terrace will comprise two units of around 60 square metres or a single unit of around 120 square metres.
Designs for the new units are expected to be finalised in the next few months, with construction starting in the new year and a completion date of summer 2026.
The Golspie units form part of wider investment by HIE in developing small business units in rural areas.
Eann Sinclair, HIE’s area manager for Caithness and Sutherland, said:
“Modern, flexible premises are vital to enable local businesses to grow and to attract new businesses into the area. We have worked hard to bring forward this programme of work for Golspie Business Park, and we look forward to getting on with the construction phase as we continue to seek wider economic benefits for the area.”
Gordon Williamson, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Highland, commented: “We’re pleased to be working with HIE on this important development in Golspie. These new business units will provide modern, flexible space for local enterprises to grow and thrive, supporting both the community and wider Sutherland economy. Our team has a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across the Highlands, and we look forward to bringing these new facilities to life.”
