Global experts, academics and innovators will gather at the annual All-Energy exhibition and conference to advance Scotland’s goal of net zero and achieving a sustainable future.
It is expected to have more than 270 exhibitors, 600 speakers and more than 10,000 people in attendance.
Deputy first minister, Kate Forbes, will join the opening session alongside UK energy minister Michael Shanks, GB Energy chairman Juergen Maier and more as they discuss the Clean Power 2030 mission on 14 May. Chris Stark, head of mission control in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero will open a session on Day two.
Businesses from the Highlands and Islands will showcase their renewable energy expertise, including wind, biomass, wave and tidal and more at the Team Scotland stand. This exhibition is in collaboration with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Development International, South of Scotland Enterprise, Crown Estate Scotland and Zero Waste Scotland.
Shetland Companies will feature at the Shetland Islands of Opportunity stand, while more than 10 companies will be represented at the Energy of Orkney pavilion. The Outer Hebrides will have a significant presence with their Powering our Future Stand.
HIE has organised a marine energy session titled Marine Energy in Scotland – What’s all the Comm-ocean? Norma Hogan, HIE’s senior development manager for marine energy, will chair part of this session.
Significant milestones in the region’s renewable energy sector since last year’s event include Sumitomo Electric breaking ground on its £350m subsea cable facility at Port of Nigg; £55m awarded to Port of Cromarty Firth through the UK Government’s Floating Offshore Wind Manufacturing Investment Scheme; HIE’s support of £10m towards the Inner East Quay at Port of Nigg and £5m approved by HIE through the Scottish Government for a renewables hub at Scapa Flow in Orkney.
