Business to Healthcare (B2Hc) is designed and developed by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) to support small businesses, social enterprises and charities in their journey to engage with key decision makers in the NHS and wider health and care sector.

The B2Hc introductory webinar will be held on 27 May at 12:30pm for organisations to find out more about the programme. Applications for the programme are welcomed from those looking to showcase their company to the right people and be introduced to influencers in the health and care sector.

During the webinar, Cornelius Glismann, CEO at CorporateHealth International (CHI) will share his experience and give insights into the support the company is accessing from the B2Hc programme. CHI provides an innovative service for a tried and tested technology - their experts carry out specialist reading of images from a video camera capsule. The service was trialled in the north of Scotland first before being rolled out across Scotland and beyond through the SCOTCAP project.

Hagen Wenzek from Corporate Health International, said: “It isn’t an exaggeration to say the collaborative support we’ve had has been outstanding. Coupled with the willingness of NHS Highland to embrace innovation, this has been fundamentally important to our success.”

The B2Hc programme will also help identify potential funding streams and ways to scale up a product. This opportunity is for businesses, social enterprises and charities based in the Highland Council region looking to expand and those outside the region looking to grow within the Highland area.

The programme forms part of the Northern Innovation Hub, a project led by HIE with £11m from the UK Government as part of the Inverness and Highland City Region Deal and £1.7m of funding awarded through the European Regional Development Fund Scotland Programme 2014-2020.

One to one support will be delivered by Digital Healthsense.  Adrian Smith, CEO at Digital HealthSense said: “We are delighted to work with HIE to help companies navigate the NHS and health and care landscape across the UK. We make our insights, experience and contacts available so that companies can access the right networks for them.”

Any business looking to develop within the wider health and care sector are encouraged to join. This includes private health and care and direct to consumer products.

The programme’s introduction will be delivered by HIE’s senior development manager life sciences, Andrea McColl, and Adrian Smith as well as guest speakers Cornelius Glismann, CEO, CHI and Stephen Katebe, CEO and Co-founder, TekiHealth Solutions who are both already benefiting from the programme.

Andrea said: “We are looking forward to welcoming more organisations to the Business to Healthcare programme over the coming months. We want to see more of our innovative businesses develop effective business models, enabling them to sell their products and services to the health and care sector – in our local area, across the UK and globally.”

The webinar will offer an introduction to the programme, the chance to find out more about further one-to-one tailored support, speak to the coaches and ask questions.
