Inverness and Nairn based Capgemini is to provide IT services to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for a five-year period. The deal is expected to create many new jobs in the region.
Welcoming the news, Charlotte Wright, HIE chief executive, said:
“This great news from Capgemini really couldn’t have come at a better time. During this very difficult period for the economy, the company has competed very effectively for this contract at a UK level.
“This success is testament, not only to Capgemini’s approach to continuous growth and ambitions for the future, but to the skills and experience in IT outsourcing that exist in our region’s workforce.
“This news will strengthen Capgemini’s position as one of our region’s largest private sector employers.”
