As part of Moray Business Week 5-9 November, hosted by HIE and the Association of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (ARPAS-UK), drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) will be on display in Forres tomorrow (Thursday 8).
The event at Horizon Scotland is being run to support businesses and will give them an insight into the use of drones and UAVs. It will take a closer look at the safe, legal use of drones across various industries such as tourism, agriculture, forestry, surveying, and search and rescue.
April Conroy, #hellodigital project manager, said: “We are excited to be working with ARPAS-UK and look forward to welcoming people from different industries to our event; whether you’re a business wondering what drones can do in general or you are looking for in-depth answers to sector-specific questions.
“At #hellodigital our goal is to bring individuals, businesses, communities and experts together to explore new ideas and innovations in the digital world. Our digital demonstration programme creates opportunities to do just that. We want to help the region’s businesses to see and find out what technology can offer them.”
Dr Sue Wolfe, Business Development Director at ARPAS-UK, has worked with UAVs since 2004. She said: “It’s great to be working with #hellodigital on this fascinating event as part of Moray Business Week. The event will offer insights into the technicalities of drone operations as well as new business approaches and the challenges that come with them.
“The event will enable businesses to take a look at how drones have the potential to shape the future of certain industries whilst at the same time shedding some light on the rules and regulations of operating them.
“The Association of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems UK (ARPAS-UK) is a not for profit association which was formed in 2013. We encourage best practice and collaboration amongst our members and key stakeholders to promote growth within the RPAS industry.”
