Long-term business viability and making the numbers work

Delivered in partnership with the Scottish Government, the Islands Community Tourism Training Programme is about supporting island communities to develop sustainable, community-led tourism.

The theme of day is about enterprise models, business effectiveness and capital and revenue funding challenges and opportunities.

This learning session will cover:

  • Core principles behind different enterprise models

  • Examples of different community led tourism enterprises in action

  • The balance sheet and where to focus effort

  • The different role of staff and volunteers in community led tourism

  • Capital and revenue funding opportunities

The National Islands Plan highlight that islands are central to our identity as a nation and a core part of Scotland's international image.
