Digital storytelling for businesses: you are the story
This live session explores how personal perspective, place and lived experience can become the foundation for powerful digital storytelling - and how businesses and creators in the Highlands and Islands are using this to build audiences and opportunities well beyond their local base.
Who is this session for?
This session is for businesses, creators and organisations in the Highlands and Islands who:
- use (or want to use) storytelling as part of their digital presence;
- create content across platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or newsletters;
- want to build stronger connections with audiences and customers; and
- are interested in authentic, place‑rooted storytelling rather than chasing trends.
You don’t need a large following or specialist digital skills - this session focuses on insight, examples and practical thinking.
What you’ll explore
In this session, we’ll look at:
- how authentic voice and lived experience translate across digital platforms;
- why place and identity can be strengths in a global digital landscape;
- how creators are building trust, connection and long‑term engagement; and
- ways storytelling can open up opportunities for collaboration and income.
Rather than focusing on trends or algorithms, the session centres on intentional, grounded storytelling that supports sustainable growth.
