Community voice, governance and partnerships in tourism

Delivered in partnership with the Scottish Government, the Islands Community Tourism Training Programme is about supporting island communities to develop sustainable, community-led tourism.

This session's theme is about tourism and community governance models in island communities and community voice in tourism planning and decision making.

This learning session will cover:

  • Community and tourism governance models in Scotland and on our islands

  • Mapping our stakeholders and local tourism structures

  • Knowing where community voice is needed and how to be effective

  • Building effective partnerships

The National Islands Plan highlight that islands are central to our identity as a nation and a core part of Scotland's international image.
