- Position: Development Manager
- Location: Orkney or Shetland
- Starting salary: £37,989 per annum. Potential salary progression to £42,947 per annum. Excellent pension and benefits package
- Contract/hours: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week
The role
This role is within the Orkney and Shetland area team. Our area teams have an important role in delivering HIE’s commitment to place based development through working with local enterprises, partners, and stakeholders to develop and deliver projects which support economic and community development in their areas.
The post-holder will be responsible for contributing to the development of high quality and sustainable business, social enterprise and community sectors in the Orkney and Shetland Islands. You will play a valuable role in working closely with clients within the area who are seeking to grow.
The person
We’re looking for a candidate with ambition to make a difference, who is proactive, collaborative, customer and solution-focused.
Ideally you'll have client facing experience, and you'll be organised and adaptable - able to manage priorities, work to deadlines and maintain high standards of governance.
You'll be interested in the local economy, and the opportunities and challenges facing island business sectors and communities. You'll be a clear and confident communicator, with the ability to present ideas clearly.
Above all you're motivated by supporting sustainable and economic community development and are ready to play an active role in making it happen.
