Pat Munro is a multi-discipline contractor based in Alness in the Highlands. They own and operate their own quarries, manufacture their own roadstone on concrete, and are recognised experts in the property development, road haulage and waste disposal. 

They now have an excellent opportunity for a 12-month graduate placement to help expand the use of their existing online sales portal to a wider geographic region through data analysis and research.

Role Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing new postcode- based price list for several product types.

Specific tasks of the placement will include:

  • Gain an understanding of sector and market research, and pricing strategy.
  • Establish a zoned map of entire service area on a post-code basis, to allow for online pricing of quarry and waste products.
  • Carry out market research to confirm suitability of proposed prices, producing a report on findings.
  • Use existing pricing strategy to assign product prices to relevant postcodes. Create a table of prices for each zone, for integration into e-commerce site.
  • Develop customer information/sales content on the website, to build FAQs and help customers place online orders.
  • Conduct Beta testing (User Acceptance Testing) of the e-commerce site for all scenarios.
  • Work with software providers and finance team to ensure seamless interface of online orders and payments.
  • Oversee go-live, training and monitor traffic/feedback. Feedback recommendations and implement any improvements.

  • Basic knowledge of waste or quarry products would be beneficial but not necessary.
  • Valid driving licence preferable.
