Background

The strategic framework for Scotland’s Marine Tourism Sector is led by a working group of marine tourism industry leaders and user groups supported by the public agencies and enterprise bodies.

It is focused on the sustainable growth of Scotland’s marine tourism sector, and seeks to develop and grow marine tourism in line with the ambitions and targets of the national tourism strategy – Tourism Scotland 2020.

Through the growth in the number, length of stay and value of marine tourists, we shall maximise the economic benefits of marine tourism for Scotland as a whole, and for the marine industry and businesses, communities and organisations who collectively make up Scotland’s marine tourism sector.

We want Scotland to be recognised as a marine tourism destination of first choice for high quality, value for money and memorable customer experience delivered by skilled and passionate people.
