Communicating heritage with digital audio

Heritage and Tourist sectors have been greatly affected by COVID-19 and will face many challenges in the future. However, there has also been a huge creative digital response with museums reaching locked down audiences through virtual tours, galleries, live events and social media.

Audio enriches and informs our engagement with heritage. In this session we will look at how to record and capture audio, how to post process audio recordings to improve quality, edit content and introduce effects. We will also look at how and when to use audio on Social Archive sights, through social media and through podcasts. This session will feature a case study of how podcasts have been used to communicate heritage in the “Highland Objects” project.
