Travel and transport manager

We’re looking for a proactive travel and transport manager to lead a key project on behalf of HIE and our partners.

Travel and transport manager

  • Homeworking at present. Normal office location - Inverness
  • Starting salary £29,237 pro-rata per annum, excellent benefits package
  • Fixed term for two years
  • 21 hours per week, flexible work pattern considered

As part of this job you’ll:

  • Encourage active travel such as walking and cycling to and from the Campus.
  • Work closely with local transport providers to improve links to the Campus.
  • Encourage a move away from single-occupancy car use on the campus by visitors, workers, and students.
  • Promote events and schemes that encourage more active travel.
  • Liaise regularly with the Campus steering group and other contacts to ensure that project progress is communicated.
  • Look at ways to secure funding to help support future events and schemes which focus on sustainable travel.

The person

It’s essential that you have a strong project management background and are comfortable working with project partners and a range of other key stakeholders.

You will need excellent people skills, be full of ideas and have a real passion for active travel. You’ll  also bring technical skills in a number of areas including;  report writing, influencing policy and event organisation and promotion.

We need someone who can bring our future vision for active travel to life!
