• Job title: Area Manager – Moray
• Location: The normal office location is Forres. HIE are finalising arrangements to move towards a hybrid working model
• Starting salary: £69,248 per annum with excellent benefits package Potential salary progression to £79,857 per annum
• Contract: Permanent, full-time: 35 hours per week

The role

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and ambitious Area Manager.

As a key member of the senior management team, you’ll:

1. Lead on the successful delivery of HIE’s area plan for activity in Moray in line with HIE’s Operating Plan.
2. Act as HIE’s senior representative in the area and be the primary interface for local businesses and the wider community.
3. Work closely with the local authority and other public-sector partners to ensure they have the appropriate information on HIE's plans and strategic priorities.
4. Liaise closely with all partners, taking forward strategic activities in relation to the policy objectives laid out by the Scottish Government, including the 10-year Economic Transformation Strategy.
5. Contribute to the development of HIE strategy and policy.
6. Take responsibility for the financial management of HIE’s budget for the area, also ensuring that resources are prioritised effectively.
7. Lead on a range of regionally significant investments with other key HIE colleagues.
8. Ensure audit compliance requirements are met and that HIE’s risk management strategy is effectively maintained.
9. Take performance management responsibility for members of the Moray area team.
10. Actively participate in the recruitment and development of team members.
11. Champion and be a positive role model with regard to HIE’s People Values.

The person

It’s essential that you are a proven leader who can quickly build strong working relationships with senior managers, colleagues across the organisation and HIE’s external partners and stakeholders, locally and nationally.

You’ll also have confidence in your technical skills, demonstrating practical and operational experience in managing large, complex budgets and leading on the delivery of a range of significant, complex and challenging projects.

You’ll be a strategic thinker and inspiring leader, with the ability to influence and shape the direction of economic growth in Moray, while also contributing to HIE’s wider strategic priorities for the Highlands and Islands.
