Transport infrastructure is an essential component to the long-term future of the Highlands and Islands. Impacting on business competitiveness, transport links are the lifelines of a diverse and geographically widespread region such as the Highlands and Islands.

A significant driver of economic activity, transport infrastructure is at the heart of HIE’s planning. We see our role as that of catalyst, facilitating investment by the private sector or via European funding.
