What: Tourism Innovation Day

About: A one day event chaired by Muriel Gray to help owners and managers of Scotland’s wide range of tourism businesses spot the opportunities for innovation and growth in their organisation, and learn from experts how to turn ideas in to reality.
Tourism Innovation Day 2009 is organised by the Tourism Innovation Group (TIG), a private sector tourism leadership group with members who are passionate about achieving long term, strategic change in Scottish tourism. The event receives support from Scottish Enterprise, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and VisitScotland.

What: Get WiSe? Marine Wildlife Courses for Boat Operators

About: One day training courses for marine tourism operators. WiSe is a one-day course and UK-wide accreditation programme aimed at boat operators (skippers and crew) who encounter marine wildlife whilst on the water as well as representatives of other organisations interested in marine tourism best practice. Events are being staged jointly by Wild Scotland, the Scottish wildlife and nature tourism operators association and Scottish Natural Heritage.
