Tea and Coffee

One of the simplest ways to put a visitor, guest or client at their ease is to offer them a cup of tea or coffee. This is especially welcome if the journey has been a long one. The following phrases will help you to make visitors feel at home, and it’s also very handy for the staff room!

An gabh sibh cupa tì? Will you take a cup of tea?

 
A bheil sibh ag iarraidh tì? Do you want tea?

 
A bheil sibh ag iarraidh cupa cofaidh? Do you want a cup of coffee?

 
A bheil sibh ag iarraidh bainne is siùcar? Do you want milk and sugar?

 
Tha mi ag iarraidh cofaidh dubh I want black coffee

Gabhaidh mi dà làn na spàine I’ll take two spoonfuls (of sugar)

Gabhaidh mi briosgaid I’ll take a biscuit
