Smart Exporter is a new international trade skills programme offering free or subsidised services for companies and individuals based in Scotland who wish to expand their exporting knowledge.
The programme aims to ensure that ambitious businesses have the right skills and expertise needed to access international markets.
Smart Exporter support is suitable for all sizes of companies and across all stages of a business's international development process from beginner, through to intermediate and advanced levels.

Smart Exporter brings together, and is funded by:
The project supplements the internationalisation programmes which are already available from HIE, SDI and SCC. Smart Exporter has been developed to widen the availability of export services to target all Scottish companies, specifically by helping them to overcome some of the skills-related barriers to export.
The one year pilot in the Highlands and Islands, which is part-funded by the European Social Fund, will focus on providing around 200 companies and senior managers with the technical skills required to target international markets and help them prepare for export.
