World Class Welcome

When it comes to "delivering the difference", special touches such as giving a greeting in the language of an overseas visitor can elevate hospitality to a new level and win hearts and minds. Giving a World Class Welcome is the key to providing world class service to overseas visitors, especially those who speak little English.

Delegates can choose to attend one, two or all three sessions in either French, German or Spanish.

Duration: One half day per language

Target audience: Anyone who comes into contact with overseas visitors

Objectives: Delegates will learn how to:

  • use words and phrases of greeting in another language
  • speak English in a way that is easily understood by non-native speakers
  • anticipate differences in cultural expectations of overseas visitors to Scotland

Content: Using the tape and language mat provided, participants are encouraged to take the first steps towards speaking anothe language. the approach is very much hands-on and empowering using scenarios typical to your workplace.

                            Tuesday 4 April 2006, Aros, Portree- GERMAN

                            Wednesday 5 April 2006, Plockton Hotel- SPANISH

Time:                  French- 9.30am to 12.30pm

                          German 1.30pm to 4.30pm 

                          Spanish- 10am to 1pm

 

Cost                £15 per session or £40 for all three
