Getting back into the workplace can be daunting-Training for Work exists to help you in this process.
Training for Work helps you find a job through a range of work related and training opportunities.
A person is eleigible for Training for Work is he/she;
- has reached the age of 25 on the date of starting training and has been unemployed for 26 out of 52 weeks
- is aged between 18 and 24 and is a person with a disability and/or a lone parent and is continously unemployed and not claiming Jobseekers Allowance or
- is receiving Incapacity Benefit
- is an unemployed person who has recently been made redundant as a result of a large scale redundancy as designated by HIE
Jobcentre Plus will confirm whether or not you are eligible.
With a Training Provider you will work to identify training and support that will lead to a job. You will then be supported to carry out approved training obtaining up to date experience will be vital.
The Training for Work programme can last for a minimum of two weeks up to six months-you continue on benefit, and get £10 on top of that while you are training. If you have travel costs, we can help with that too.
