This course will be held in the Toravaig House Hotel, Sleat. Delegates are invited to stay overnight providing the opportunity to discuss the day`s training, to network and share best practice tips with each other.

  • What legislation applies and where to find information 
  • Customer feedback makes you money 
  • Your pricing policy and the local market 
  • Business plans-short, medium and long term goals 
  • Introduction to the importance of setting and achieving targets-even for the smallest business 
  • Importance of repeat business, word of mouth referrals and using your own local network 

Content - Day 2

  • Your location and importance of marketing 
  • Your corporate image and what it says about your business from website to business cards-quality counts 
  • Importance of good customer service from first contact to aftercare 
  • Importance of quality communication-telephone, e-mail, letter and in person from you and every member of your family and staff 
  • Introducing and setting standards 
  • Introduction to the VisitScotland quality assurance scheme 
  • Question time and an exchange of tips and hints
