Access For Power Users

Would you like to use your database more efficiently? Have you ever wanted a quick answer to why something did not come out as you expected? Have you wanted help on your particular database problem with the bonus of solving your problem there and then.

This is the ideal opportunity to further develop your database skills while working on your own solutions. The aim is to save you time and frustration and make thise problematic tasks become easier to manage and therefore less daunting.

Duration: One day

Target Audience: Anyone who is currently using an Access database for aspects of their work. You do not need to have set the database up, but you should be familiar with inputting data and using basic data management techniques correctly

Content: This is a blank canvas just now but to give you an example, this may contain items like:

  • forms and subforms
  • expressions in forms
  • calculations in queries
  • command buttons
  • images in reports 

Objectives: This is different because you will be setting your own objectives and we will help you get there. What we want to achieve together is that by the end of this course you will be able to choose and use at least two new techniques or methods which will benefit your own database.

Time: 10.00 am – 4.00 pm 

Pre-requisites: You must be a regular computer user, familiar with with Windows applications and be able to cut/copy/paste. You should be already using Access on a regular basis. If you are unsure about your skill level, then please call your nearest learning centre for a free IT skills check.

Pre-course activity: You help set the course objectives and the content! Once you are booked onto this course you will be contacted by email and will be asked to complete a simple questionnaire. This will help us design the structure of the day and make sure we cover areas of interest
