The following is financial assistance available to new businesses. Many of the types of assistance available to existing businesses (see below) are also available to new starts

SALE	HIE STARTS – Allowance – £150 p.w. maximum HIE STARTS – Capital Grant Scheme - £500 maximum
SALE	Crofters Entrant Scheme – operated in partnership with The Crofters Commission
PSYBT	£1000 maximum – 18-25 age group. Discretionary, in cases of those who are unemployed and of limited means	£10,000 maximum – 18-25 age group (50% HOL match funding)
The Highland Fund		Unsecured loans from £3000 to £5000 – predominantly, but not exclusively, for new businesses
