HIE Skye & Wester Ross board of directors

HIE Skye and Wester Ross has a board of directors who represent the business community and interests of the area.

The role of the directors is to ensure that the local needs and problems of the area are fully addressed. Policy for LEC expenditure and investment in the Skye and Wester Ross area is also the responsibility of the directors.

Confidentiality of all LEC clients is respected and there is a strict policy that LEC directors do not have access to clients' files.

Appointability through Openness

The HIE Network's policy of Appointability Through Openness is designed to encourage wider community interest, nominations and self-nominations for the positions of Local Enterprise Company (LEC) directors through clearer public accessibility to the leadership of LECs.  The policy includes

• local advertising and consultation to identify a wide field of candidates 
• production of job descriptions and people specifications 
• the introduction of nomination panels, containing independent local representation from outside the LEC, to review applications against objective criteria.
