APPOINTABILITY THROUGH OPENNESS
The HIE Network's policy of Appointability Through Openess is designed to encourage wide community interest, nominations and self nominations for the positions of LEC directors - through clearer public accessibility to the leadership of LECs. The policy includes local advertising and consultation to identify a wide field of candidates for LEC board membership; production of job descriptions and people specifications for the LEC board posts; and the introduction of nominations panels, containing independent local representation from outside the LEC, to sift candidate directors against these objective criteria of skills, expertise and merit.
