Course Overview

This is a certified course qualifying a person as a “trained first aider”. People undertaking this training are allowed to administer first aid until medical help arrives.

Course Description

This is an HSE approved course leading to a full First Aid at Work Certificate, which must be renewed ever 3 years.

Extensive programme which includes:-

CPR, Choking, Wounds and Bleeding, Heart Conditions, Bandaging, Respiratory problems, Safe Lifting and Handling Techniques, Poisons and Stings, First Aid Boxes, Nervous System, Head Injury, Concussion, Compression, Meningitis, Migraine, Headache, Stroke, Diabetes Mellitus, Spinal Recovery Position, Action in an Emergency, Assessing the Casualty.

The afternoon of day four is used for the practical assessment of students, on successful completion of the assessment students will be awarded their certificates.

Notes

You are required to do a 2-day refresher course within 3 years of completing this course.
