Caithness Everybody Online case study

The Citizens Online model has already brought about excellent results in the Caithness area. In 2008, supported by HIE and BT, the Everybody Online Caithness project recruited a Project Officer working with BT staff and volunteers to deliver digital events across the area.

Event topics included internet basics, how to use email, how to use Microsoft office packages and Wii Fit classes, and were delivered to a range of local community groups including those involved in youth development, adult education, young mums and the job club.

Broadband uptake in the area increased as a result of the project through 50 direct and 330 indirect participants.
