Skills Development Scotland

Dear Training Provider, available to download below is, what I hope will be, some useful guidance - including a “tips and hints” paper to help with ongoing Quality Development Planning.

This information is not really new, indeed it has previously been posted via the Scottish Enterprise and HIE websites, and so many of you may already be familiar with it.

Message to SDS (H & I) Training Providers (National Training Programmes)

Dear Colleagues,

I attach a link to the website for the organisation Quality Scotland.

http://www.qualityscotland.co.uk/home.asp

I fully appreciate that many or all of you may already be aware of Quality Scotland and its work.

However I just wanted to flag up the potential benefits and support that may be available from them which include events, training, and exchange of good practice and promotion of business excellence models.

I hope this will be of interest to you.

Regards

Derek Cairns

Message to Training Providers from the Voluntary Sector.

The Big Picture is a quality improvement framework, written by and for the voluntary sector. It helps you to look at what you are doing and how you do it before making changes to improve quality.

Many of you may already be aware of this but if not and you are a Training Provider from the Voluntary Sector, it may be a useful, practical tool to help you conduct future self assessment reviews and quality development planning. It can be found by clicking into the website link below.

Raising awareness on Equal Opportunities, Equality and Diversity.

The Highlands & Islands Equality Forum is a project to raise awareness of Equality issues in the Highlands & Islands.

In addition to many other activities they run a series of awareness events in various locations with the Highlands & Islands area aimed at the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Attendance by a key individual from your organisation may help provide up to date knowledge of the equality and diversity topic, as well as enhancing understanding of the new Equalit y & Human Rights Commission and its work.

Please find a table of roadshow dates and venues on the HIEF site where you can also register your interest online.

I hope this may be of interest and help to you.
