Introduction
The Northern Periphery Programme (NPP) 2007 -2013 is one of several European Union funded programmes aimed at encouraging transnational co-operation between the regions of Europe. The Highlands and Islands of Scotland, along with Dumfries and Galloway, are included in the area along with:
- Northern Sweden
- Northern Finland
- North and west Norway
- The Faroe Islands
- Greenland
- Iceland
- West Ireland
- Northern Ireland
The third call for proposals will be launched on the 15th August, 2008, and will close on the 26th September, 2008. Decisions on all main project applications will be made at the Programme Monitoring Committee meeting on the 3rd - 4th December 2008.
Important announcement for preparatory project applications The PMC has decided to apply a focused call for preparatory projects from the 1st September, 2008. From this date, the Programme Secretariat is only allowed to approve projects dealing with certain identified themes, not yet addresses by the programme. How to apply seminar, Copenhagen, 21st August, 2008
The Programme Secretariat is organising a seminar on how to apply for the Third Application Call, which closes on the 26th September, 2008. The seminar will be held on the 21st August, 2008 in the NPP office in Copenhagen, Denmark. Lead Partner Seminar, Voss, Norway, 12th-13th June, 2008
This first lead partner seminar for the Northern Periphery Programme 2007-2013 took place in Voss, Norway, on the 12th and 13th June, 2008, and was attended by the 17 approved main projects and a number of preparatory projects. The main topics addressed were the financial claim procedure, activity reporting and information and communication.

NPP awareness seminar, Inverness, 10 May 2007
