HIE strategy launch - streaming video of key speeches
The streaming video links here show two key speeches at the HIE network's launch of its strategy - a Smart, Successful Highlands and Islands - at the annual Network conference, held in Aviemore on 17 June 2005.
These two videos are available here in three formats:
-
The first .wmv files are reduced bandwidth (modem or 'dial-up') versions. They will be faster to download - which is more beneficial to those using a modem or slow connection.
-
The second .wmv files are primarily for computer users with a broadband connection. They should play automatically in Windows media player.
-
The Mp4 (mpeg) format is provided primarily for Apple Mac users, however they will open in most movie-playing software, e.g. Winamp, PowerDVD or Realplayer.
Both videos have short introductions by Sandy Cumming, HIE's chief executive.
Transcripts of both speeches are available here to download for printing - or - if you are using a screen reader, braille reader, mobile device or old equipment - plain text versions are also provided. (Go to related documents.)

The first 'keynote' speech is by Mr Jim Wallace MSP, then Deputy First Minister.
