Since 1 January 2005, HIE has been required to comply with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act. This Act essentially provides a right of access to information held by public bodies regardless of age and establishes the office of the Scottish Information Commissioner who has the necessary powers to enforce the Act and regulate compliance.Freedom of Information - useful links
