Description: Session A9: A traditional Scottish band with a contemporary sound, formed by Charlie McKerron of Capercaille fame they are now astounding audiences with their own unique sound.

Support band Breabach fresh from the Blas tour & their performance on BBC2 Scotland as part of Celtic Connections make this a night for exceptional traditional music.

Originally formed as an album project by leader Charlie McKerron, Session A9 are a Scottish traditional supergroup well equipped to take Celtic music onto a global stage. This tour marks the release of their long awaited new CD “Bottlenecks & Armbreakers”.

Pooled together is a dream team of top names in traditional music in Scotland & it is only that most have been so busy with commitments for top Celtic acts such as Capercaillie, The Peatbog Faeries, Boys Of The Lough amongst others & on numerous individual projects, that Session A9 haven’t been able to get together quite as often as their loyal fans would have liked thus far. Fantastically fresh & contemporary treatment of traditional music; giving the music popular appeal yet staying so true to traditional values is the trademark of Session A9. Many tunes in their setlist were written by band members- particularly band founder & Scottish Trad Awards Composer of 2005 Charlie McKerron- yet others penned over 300 years ago !

Superbly flowing arrangements delivered with precision & virtuosity, synergy & synchronicity.

“An epic musical experience escalating into peaks of inspiration & glory” said one critic. Ably supported by the young & highly talented rapidly rising stars Breabach who recently appeared on BBC 2 Scotland following a triumphant return to Celtic Connections 2008- now a top act in their own right & invited to appear at many more leading folk festivals in Europe during 2008. A world class traditional Scottish & World Music live show- a must see & hear.

Excellent value for money - particularly for those with an eye for a real bargain & purchasing tickets early. EARLYBIRD TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW - BOOK IN ADVANCE FOR THE BEST VALUE.
