Tourism is one of our key sectoral priorities and the combination of an unspoilt natural landscape, a quality range of visitor accommodation and a great range of visitor attractions is testimony to the success of Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strtahspey’s entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.

Attractions such as Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Cairngorms national park, Glen Affric and the Moray Firth Dolphins draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to the area each year, and we aim to support further development of tourism-related businesses and facilities through a combination of activities.

We  provide advice, market research and information, and specialist and professional support for market and business planning purposes through our own advisors and consultancy services. In certain cases, funding may also be provided to assist business development and community projects.

We also collaborate with community, public and private sector-led organisations to support events and festivals that enable the area’s businesses to promote their products and services to the tourism sector.
