Skillseekers

Skillseekers is designed to support the recruitment and training of young people entering the labour market, with the full involvement of employers. Skillseekers aims to create a better skilled and qualified workforce thus increasing the efficiency and thereby competitiveness of our local industry.

Through Skillseekers, young people aged between 16 and 24 are given the opportunity to work towards vocational qualifications (VQs) which are based on their ability to do a job. VQs are nationally recognised and are available in all kinds of occupations from accountancy to catering. The standards are designed by the industries to which employers belong, so Skillseekers gain knowledge, skills and experience which are valuable to employers and meet their specific needs.

Skillseekers funding from us provides employers with financial assistance to train young employees towards these qualifications.
