The area has witnessed strong population and economic growth over the last 30 years. If we are to build on the progress achieved organisations in the area need to address a range of key economic development issues. These include (not in any priority order):

Ardersier
identify a future use for the redundant oil fabrication yard

Badenoch and Strathspey
work together with private/public partnership to take advantage of the development opportunities in the area

Healthcare Cluster
build on the solid foundation that exists at Raigmore Hospital, Lifescan Scotland Ltd and The Green House

University of the Highlands and Islands
maximise the opportunities available to the area

Dalcross Airport
maximise the opportunities available to support economic development

Inverness Highland 2008
all key agencies need to support the Capital of Culture bid

Inverness
maximise the opportunities provided by the award of City status

Transport
develop the road, rail, air and sea communications infrastructure of the area.

Infrastructure
develop the infrastructure to support continued population and economic growth, including housing, water supplies etc.
