Although we support as wide a range of activities and businesses as possible, the following principles are applied in deciding priorities for limited resources:
- We always seek to ensure that any proposed development or assistance meets the wider interests of the community concerned. We do so by ensuring that consultation takes place with community groups and by working closely with the local authority on any significant project
- Recognising that prosperity is not built on low-paid or unskilled employment, we give priority to the creation of high quality jobs. Employment which, for example, raises the average Gross Domestic Product of the area or reduces seasonality.
- We give priority to assisting indigenous and existing businesses, and the retention of existing jobs remains an ongoing target.
