Food and drink

The quality of the environment and the natural diversity of the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey area provide the backdrop to the success of one of our key industry sectors – food and drink. From whisky distilleries and smoked salmon to pickled herring, garlic and beef jerky, the INBSE area is a key producer of a diverse range of quality organic and processed foods.

A key aim of ours is to support businesses in this sector, by providing advice, market information, and specialist and professional support for market and business planning purposes, through our own advisers and consultancy services. In certain cases, funding may also be provided to assist business development projects.

We also collaborate with community and private sector-led organisations to support events and festivals that showcase the area’s produce, including events such as the Highland Food and Drink Festival and the Black Isle Show.
